The challenge
TechWave's founders had validated demand for a niche B2B analytics tool, but every off-the-shelf option was built for a broader market and didn't fit how their specific vertical actually used data. They needed a custom dashboard that could compete with tools like Mixpanel, purpose-built for their industry, and they needed it fast enough to show investors real usage before their runway ran out.
What we built
We scoped the MVP around a single core workflow: real-time visualization of the metrics that mattered most to TechWave's specific customer base, nothing else. The frontend was built in React with a Node.js backend streaming live updates over WebSockets, backed by a PostgreSQL pipeline designed to handle the query patterns their dashboards actually needed.
Weekly demos kept the founders closely involved in prioritization, so scope stayed tight around what would actually move the product-market-fit needle, not what looked impressive in a pitch deck.
